Thanks to several legends, we can only guess and imagine what the first court days were like in this area. The Celjski, Korvin, and Drašković families are some of the important owners claiming the court, and today the site is owned by the state.

During the 18th century, the ruling Drašković family abandoned the castle, and the space began to deteriorate due to neglect. During the 19th century, following new acquisitions and the motive of returning to tradition, the castle was renovated and regained its lost splendor. The Drašković family lived in the castle for some time and later moved to Austria. After their departure in the middle of the 20th century. Later, a museum was established in it with a permanent exhibition whose beauty we can enjoy today.
