Pejačević Castle in Našice

First up, we’re heading to Našice, home to the stunning Pejačević Castle. Built in the late 18th century, this baroque beauty once belonged to the noble Pejačević family, one of Croatia’s most distinguished aristocratic houses.The castle itself is surrounded by a peaceful park that’s perfect for a stroll or a picnic. And if you’re a fan of art and history, the castle also houses a museum filled with period furniture and fascinating artifacts. Whether you're into history or just love exploring beautiful places, Pejačević Castle should definitely be on your list.

Odescalchi Castle in Ilok

For those who dream of castles with dramatic history, Odescalchi Castle in Ilok is a must-see. This majestic fortress sits on a hill above the Danube River, offering breathtaking views of the river and nearby vineyards.Originally built in the 15th century by the Croatian-Hungarian king Nikola Iločki, the castle was later expanded by the Odescalchi family (yes, the same family that gave us Pope Innocent XI!). Ilok is known for producing some of the finest wines in Croatia.

Prandau-Mailáth Castle in Donji Miholjac

Ready for something straight out of a storybook? Enter Prandau-Mailáth Castle, located in the charming town of Donji Miholjac. This neo-Gothic masterpiece, built in the late 19th century, is like stepping into a dream.With its towers, spires, and picturesque gardens, the castle looks like it was plucked straight from a fantasy film set. The Prandau-Mailáth family spared no expense in making it luxurious, and even today, you can sense the grandeur of its past. Although it’s currently undergoing some renovations, the surrounding park and the castle’s exterior are open to visitors, giving you plenty of reasons to snap that perfect Instagram shot.

Valpovo Castle

Valpovo Castle, one of Slavonia’s largest and oldest castles, combines medieval charm with baroque elegance. Dating back to the 15th century, the castle was originally a fortress built to defend against Ottoman invaders.Today, it’s a place where history lovers can lose themselves in centuries-old architecture and tales of knights and nobles. The castle is surrounded by an extensive park, perfect for unwinding after your castle tour. There's even a museum inside where you can learn all about the rich history of this fascinating place.

Erdut Castle

Dvorac Tikveš

Last but not least, we have Dvorac Tikveš. If you're a nature lover and want to combine your castle tour with some outdoor adventure, this is the place for you. Tikveš Castle is located in the heart of Kopački Rit, one of Europe’s largest wetlands and a haven for birdwatchers.The castle complex is a blend of different styles, and though it’s not as grand as some of the others, its peaceful surroundings make it a hidden treasure.
