Every December, Santa Claus moves from Lapland to his "residence" on Mount Učka, where the snow and horse-drawn sleighs make the perfect setting for an encounter with the white-bearded Santa during the Christmas Tale in Učka Nature Park.
The traditional Christmas fairy tale in the Učka Nature Park will be held this weekend, from December 16 to 18, at Poklon Pass, in front of the Visitor Center of the same name. During the event's three days, visitors can expect a handful of content for all generations in a new but recognizable mountain setting.

Here Comes Santa Claus
Santa's arrival at Poklon is expected on Friday, December 16, at 4 p.m. In his house in Učka, he will give gifts to the youngest visitors again this year. The first in line will be residents of the Home for Children and Young Adults "Ivana Brlić Mažuranić" and Mali Učkari. The Public Institution Učka Nature Park and the event sponsors have prepared the gifts Santa Claus will give them. For everyone else, gifts with the motifs of the Učka Nature Park can be bought before seeing Santa Claus in the Poklon Visitor Center gift shop. Children will also be able to take photos with Santa Claus this year and later collect their photos in Opatija and Rijeka.
Santa's Sleigh Ride
The ride in a traditional 80-year-old carriage will continue this year as well. In addition, during the entire program, creative workshops for making Christmas decorations and greeting cards from recycled and natural materials will be organized in the heated educational space of the Visitor Center.
A novelty in this year's offer is the advent fair, where about 15 local OPGs and artists will present their handicrafts and products. It will be an ideal opportunity to buy original Christmas gifts or souvenirs from Učka.
