Ika - The Ancient Water Goddess‍

Ika is an Iron Age deity that was worshipped through the period of the Roman occupation of Liburnia, meaning the Kvarner area and part of Istria. 

The goddess is associated with the cult of water and springs of water; some claim she was a local Nymph. Either way, the connection between the old aquatic deity whose name was preserved on roman inscriptions, and the name of today's town that lies on the water spring descending from the Učka Mt to the sea, is probably not random. Once a fishing village, today, the charming town of Ika represents the perfect combination of cultural heritage, beautiful nature, and the luxurious comfort of today's desires.
