"Where City Is Port, Where Port Is City"
Founded in 1984, Rijeka Boat Show started as the region's first and biggest boat show. After that, it was known as Rijeka Nautic Show before changing its name while raising the organization's quality, the number of exhibitors, and marketing investments.
In 2022, more than 80 exhibitors displayed their nautical goods and services over 5000 square meters of Gat Karoline Riječke, Rijeka's waterfront, where you can usually see moored mega yachts.
Rijeka Boat Show is proud to promote Croatian small businesses. For example, during Rijeka Boat Show 2022, there were affordable boats up to 10 meters by Marin Boat and the premiere of the biggest motor yacht in Croatia – Monachus 70 Fly by Vineta. With the latter, Rijeka wants to expand its luxury nautical offer.
There are also expansion plans to build a marina in Rijeka by 2025 that would become the best Adriatic marina and attract more people to charter a boat in Croatia. This would also make the city of Rijeka the most important nautical center on the Adriatic Sea. Rijeka truly lives by the sea and for the sea.
What to Do in Rijeka after the Boat Show?
While in Rijeka, Croatia, take a stroll on the main pedestrian promenade (Korzo), where you can see the impressive bright-yellow City Tower and the Cathedral of St. Vitus. A long walk is reserved for the Molo Longo, a 1.7-kilometer-long pier that serves as a breakwater and offers spectacular views of the city.
Climb the 538 steps of the Petar Družić Stairway that leads to the Church of Our Lady of Trsat and the medieval Trsat Castle. The climb is worth it; you will get a beautiful panoramic view of Kvarner!
Are you into computers? There's a rather unique PEEK&POKE Computer Museum with more than two thousand old computers and other technological relics. And speaking of relics, did you know that the torpedo was invented, tested, and manufactured in Rijeka? Visit the Torpedo Museum too.
Nature lovers may take a short drive and a hike to the heavily forested Risnjak National Park. You can also visit the Natural History Museum, which exhibits local marine animals, and look at the maritime museum within the glorious Governor's Palace.
Finally, we would like to put an idea in your head – think about the summer sailing holidays in Croatia!
