The Marco Polo award was introduced in 2006, with the beginning awarding in 2010. FIJET's intention with the prize is to encourage local journalists to tell stories about known and unknown Croatian regions, people, customs, and traditions as new exciting content of overall tourist offer, but also as an incentive to the arrival of local and foreign guests.
The award aims to strengthen this special form of journalism to develop the idea that tourism is a story, myth, and legend about specific tourist destinations and to encourage the media to promote the value of our regions through reporting.
