Behind this interesting bar stands a sommelier and consultant Jelena Šimić Valentić. She had an idea, a great idea actually – to promote, and bring wine world and culture to every guest through Pupitres bar. Did she succeed? What do you think? Of course she did! From the day she opened in 2017 to today, Pupitres bar has become one of the favorite places of both local and international wine lovers.We don't know if it's because of Jelena's passion and energy, the beautiful and enchanting ambiance, or the aroma and taste of one of the best wines we have tried, but Pupitres brought drinking a glass of wine to a whole new level. It is an experience. It is learning. And it's enjoying good company, and meeting new people. This is how it is supposed to be, don't you think? Through food and drink, we learn more about people and their culture, more than we would ever learn through words!

Located in Frankopanska Street in the city of Zagreb, when you enter this bar, you will immediately feel the wine vibe. From champagne-colored walls to furniture in wine tones of different ages to some pink details in Rosé color, they played with each and every element, all while telling the wine story. And they've done it right, if you ask us! Behind this awe-inspiring designs stands the person who knows Jelena the best, her long-time friend Ivana Ferenčak.

But, like we said, it is not all in design, it sets the tone of the whole bar, yes, but the atmosphere and Jelena are what draws people in, make them feel comfortable, and encourage them to go into the unknown while enjoying it fully.

More than a Bar, and Just Like a Library

It's never too late to learn something new, and in the Wine School of Jelena Šimić Valentić, you will learn all about wines. There is no grading, don't worry, just good company and wine. And a lot of laughs! In this unique school, you will learn everything about the wine styles and wines of the world, and also discover your own style of wine. We all have one, right?! But not only that, Jelena will tell you all the tricks and sommelier secrets, so you can brag later in front of your friends.

You will enter the world of wine aromas, learn how to decant and properly open wine, find out who are the best and most important wine producers in Croatia and the world, and learn to match food and wine. And a lot more! During the Wine school, you will try four to seven different styles of wines.
