The Villa That Stole the Show in Redmayne's "The Day of the Jackal"

What makes a place unforgettable? For Rosa dei Venti, it’s a mix of Mediterranean charm, luxury, and a touch of Hollywood magic. This breathtaking villa in Croatia didn’t just host vacationers this year—it became a star in its own right, thanks to its role in the hit series The Day of the Jackal.

Leading the series is Eddie Redmayne, the Academy Award-winning actor known for his mesmerizing portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything and his role in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Redmayne’s talent shone in The Day of the Jackal, which premiered to great acclaim in November. Fans couldn’t get enough of the gripping story, and many were equally enchanted by the show’s stunning locations—especially Rosa dei Venti, with its views of Kvarner Bay and timeless Mediterranean style.

Built with Love and Vision

Rosa dei Venti is the result of Mauricio Batelić’s decade-long passion project. Starting in 2012, Batelić set out to create a complex of villas reflecting traditional Istrian village architecture while offering all the modern comforts travelers expect. After nine years of meticulous work, Rosa dei Venti was born—a masterpiece that feels both classic and fresh.

The villa is split into two houses, featuring a total of eight bedrooms that can accommodate up to 20 guests. Inside, every piece of furniture has been carefully handcrafted, adding a personal and unique touch to the space. It’s the kind of attention to detail that turns a house into a home—although an exceptionally luxurious one.

Mediterranean Living at Its Best

From the moment you arrive at Rosa dei Venti, you’re invited to embrace the laid-back Mediterranean lifestyle. Imagine cooking dinner in the outdoor kitchen, dining with friends on the covered terrace by the fireplace, or simply soaking up the sun in one of the lounging areas. For added relaxation, there’s a jacuzzi, and for those who like to stay active, there’s a gym and even a playground for kids.

The villa’s location is unbeatable. Perched on a hill overlooking Kvarner Bay, it offers sweeping views of the Adriatic Sea, lush greenery, and the surrounding countryside. It’s no surprise this stunning spot was chosen as a filming location—it’s the kind of scenery that leaves you speechless.

A Star Is Born

Rosa dei Venti’s role in The Day of the Jackal gave it a moment in the spotlight. The show’s creators were clearly drawn to its unique charm and cinematic appeal. As Eddie Redmayne brought intensity to his role, the villa stood tall as a silent co-star, enhancing every scene it appeared in.

The series itself has been a huge success, earning a second season and introducing more fans to the beauty of Croatia. For those who already know and love Rosa dei Venti, it was thrilling to see this extraordinary villa showcased on screen.

So if you’re looking for a vacation destination that feels like a movie set (because it is one!), Rosa dei Venti should be at the top of your list. After all, who wouldn’t want to stay in a villa that’s as much a star as the celebrities who filmed there?
