Since 1971, we have been fortunate to experience the grandeur of Varaždin Baroque Evenings. Today, this festival has gained recognition not only in Croatia but also in a much broader region. Each year, exceptional local and international musicians come together to delight numerous guests with their harmonious notes. Despite the passage of time, from the inaugural event to the upcoming 53rd Varaždin Baroque Evenings, the festival continues to exude enthusiasm, emotions, and pride from every corner.

From 1971 Till Today

What began as an idea on the anniversary of Varaždin Music School, evolved into a prestigious festival celebrating the baroque musical heritage. The first Varaždin Baroque Evenings festival, held in 1971, lasted three days and showcased the finest preserved baroque masterpieces. The festival's success is best exemplified by its longevity and prominence, as demonstrated by the special award received from the European Festival Association (EFFE). Each passing year, the festival's outstanding organization becomes more apparent. Nowadays, the festival spans two weeks and features several hundred musicians, captivating audiences from around the globe. The festival is annually supported and recognized by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, City of Varaždin, Varaždin County as well as Croatian Tourist Board within the Top Events program.

This years' Varaždin Baroque Evenings invites you to immerse yourself in the passion and charm of this splendid festival. Set to take place from September 22 to October 4, the festival promises an extraordinary experience. Expect performances by numerous gifted musicians at various venues, including the La Cetra Barockorchester, Ensemble Dialogos, Camerata Garestin, Soloists of Croatian Opera Academy, and the Festival Ensemble.
