Ever since 1971, we have been enjoying magnificent Varaždin Baroque Evenings. Every year, it gathers excellent local and foreign musicians who delight numerous guests with their musical notes. This year's 52nd Varaždin Baroque Evenings is full of enthusiasm, emotions, and pride comes from every corner at this festival.
From the first organization to a renowned festival of baroque musical heritage
A few years before the first held festival, on the anniversary of the Varaždin Music School, the idea of establishing a music festival was born, which would unite the broad musical tradition of Varaždin in the best possible way. The first festival held in 1971 lasted three days and presented the best of the preserved baroque heritage. The festival's success is best explained by its longevity and eminence, as evidenced by the special award from the European Festival Association (EFFE). The excellent organization is becoming more and more noticeable every year. Today, this festival lasts as long as two weeks and hosts several hundred musicians in front of an audience worldwide.

The Irish Baroque Orchestra, Camerata Garestin, TheIsraeli Baroque Collective, and Ensambl Responsorium are some names that will take the festival stages this year. Every year, the concerts are held at several locations (cathedral, Sermage Palace, Ursuline Church, etc.), so we recommend studying the program in detail. The authenticity of the festival and its recognition in the world
The uniqueness of this festival lies not only in the famous ensembles but also in the authenticity of the space, performance, and program, which is the main feature of the Varaždin Baroque Evenings. The city of Varaždin itself is a lovely backdrop for this festival, and the beauty of the baroque buildings of this city need not be further mentioned. Anyone who sets foot on Varaždin soil once during the festival can witness it himself.
