Zagreb, already known as a hub for abundant cultural and culinary diversity, has enriched its offerings with a new gem - the Asuka restaurant.

Located in the heart of Zagreb at Opatovina 16, Asuka opened its doors in summer of 2023. Its appearance in July captured the attention of Japanese cuisine enthusiasts and everyone else who enjoys exploring different gastronomic traditions. With distinctive flavors and an authentic experience, Asuka promises to provide an extraordinary culinary journey for anyone stepping into its lavish atmosphere.

Innovative Design: Blending Tradition and Elegance

Situated in the heart of the old city core, the Asuka restaurant enjoys a privileged location surrounded by key attractions, with Dolac, the main market, standing out. This proximity allows the restaurant a unique opportunity for daily sourcing of fresh fish and other high-quality products.

The restaurant's design was conceived by the Japanese designer Shigeo Nakamura. Shigeo skillfully transposed the authentic atmosphere of a small restaurant from inland Japan into this space. He personally sent several interior details from Tokyo to ensure the authenticity of the ambiance.

Upon entering the restaurant, you'll immediately sense the atmosphere of authentic Japanese culture. Greeted by hostess wearing a traditional kimono, you'll be warmly welcomed, escorted to your table, and treated to green tea. Special attention is paid to the selection of materials in space design - emphasis is placed on natural wood and untreated stone, creating an authentic experience of Japanese aesthetics. Inside the restaurant, a pleasant atmosphere prevails, characterized by the warmth of wooden elements, enriched with intriguing details that will later captivate the attention of guests at the tables. These intriguing details, part of the overall spatial design, create an additional richness that extends throughout the entire restaurant.

A Gourmet Journey Through the Authentic Japanese Cuisine

When it comes to culinary offerings, the Asuka restaurant's menu exudes traditional Japanese specialties. Various fish delicacies take the spotlight, such as smoked eel, salmon caviar, and scallops, making them an essential choice on the menu. Each dish is rich in authentic flavors and crafted with special care, offering a gourmet experience that captivates from the first bite.
