In Istria, there's a distillery called Aura. On the slopes of Ćićarija, far from roads and populated areas, the company produces traditional products like brandies, jams, and other autochthonous products from wild medicinal plants and wild fruits. Initially producing for their own needs, they became a family business focusing primarily on quality. Products must be of the same quality that our grandmothers would have produced at home without preservatives

Handpicked by Hand, Prepared With Love
From dandelion, blackberry, raspberry, blueberry, fig, plum, and dogwood jams to brandy aged up to three years, half a year of maceration, after which it is settled and poured over the next two and half years and up to six times to lose sediment naturally. The base of all rakija is homemade brandy made from black currants, pears, or apples.
It is indispensable to have some extra Biska lying around. The mistletoe leaves are carefully harvested from apple trees and soaked in Komovica brandy for half a year, followed by Millefrutti barrique brandy, distilled twice and aged for three years in barrique barrels. Aura Distillery produces four kinds of gin. One of those is Gin Karbun, which is made from grain distillate, pine, and 20 spices, and holds a special place in production. Activated carbon is used to filter Gin Karbun and is an important component of the beverage during its filtration process.
