Tracing its roots from the Stone Age, Daruvar will make you a frequent visitor. It is mainly known for its more than 2500 years of tradition of spa treatments. Thermal water springs in this area were being used for healing, first by the local tribes and later by the Romans. In 1772, Antun Janković, who owned the area, started developing a health and recreational complex around the springs that he envisioned becoming a centre of leisure and healing. 

His vision indeed became a reality and long-lasting as well. So many of the buildings are still in function. Just imagine taking a soothing warm bath surrounded by so much history; truly healing for body and soul.

The Most Decorated Small Town

Daruvar won 4 gold, two silver and one bronze award from the Croatian national tourist board for being the most decorated small town in continental Croatia. Exploring its preserved architecture, parks and vineyards will make you see why Daruvar has all those prestigious awards.

Rihter family has a centuries-old tradition of making alcoholic drinks, with gin being their newest venture. Because of the family's deep roots in Daruvar, it was only fitting to name their product Crane Town gin, as the crane is the city's symbol and could be found on the city's crest.

This gin is handmade in small batches, ensuring that only the top-quality product will be available to its customers. Crane Town gin is made from 20 varieties of hand-picked plants from the Papuk mountain. A lot of sunshine and fresh air makes these plants' aroma emerge in every sip you take of this exquisite gin. Some of these plants include blueberry, angelica, elderberry and chamomile. As if the amazing taste was not enough, the scent of blueberry mixed with elderberry and citrus truly is something to behold.
