The history of Dopolavoro goes back as far as the 20th century when "Tratorria Peruzzi" was first opened in the spot of today's restaurant. If you consider yourself an enthusiastic gourmet, you cannot miss out on the veal or lamb cooked in the Istrian čripnja. Čripnja is a local name for peka, a heavy iron-cast bell representing one of the most traditional ways of slow-cooking. This ancient way of preparing food is very time-consuming and requires an outstanding level of skill - only the true masters can achieve the perfect spice blend, consistent cooking temperature, and precise timing. The final result is a mouth-watering, hearty dish that's the only proper way to finish your hiking trip!
Next to the abundant selection of meats, the menu also has a wide range of soups and appetizers. All dishes are made using locally sourced ingredients. Depending on the season, you'll try local dishes made with mushrooms, wild asparagus, and truffles.
