Restaurant Tač is located at Vrhovac no. 140, at the top of the hill facing Sljeme. Namely, Sljeme is the peak of the Medvednica mountain above the city of Zagreb. It is located 1033 meters above sea level and is the favorite recreational spot of Zagreb residents. There is also a ski slope on the ridge, one of the locations for the World Ski Cup races (Snow Queen Trophy). But let's get back to the Tač restaurant. The restaurant is run by the Miletić family, Tihomir, his wife Vesna, and their sons, who also share their parent's passion for gastronomy and hospitality. Mrs. Vesna is responsible for the interior and the selection of the menu, while the procurement of food and drinks is done by her husband. Interestingly, the restaurant works with several top subcontractors and producers from Slavonia, Istria, Lika, and southern Dalmatia.
Precisely because of this, you can try Istrian asparagus, truffles, wild arugula, Boškarin meat, cured Dalmatian pig loin, and prosciutto as kulen, sausages, and game meat from Slavonia. We could say that in Tač, you can try fresh and top-quality ingredients and meals from every corner of Croatia. Restaurant Tač defines its cuisine as Istrian continental with the influence of all other culinary cultures that have shaped the past but also the present of this region.

Sweets That Will Brighten Up Every Day
If you are a fan of sweets, you will be pleased to know that Tač Restaurant pays great attention to its selection of desserts. On their menu, you can find several types of cakes and homemade pastries, dominated by the Tač cake. This exquisite cake is made of fried, crunchy almonds and chocolate. However, we recommend traditional cow cheese štrukli and fruit puff pastry pies if you want something more conventional.
Restaurant Tač also has a winter kitchen under the restaurant where seasonal jams, sauerkraut, ajvar, and liqueurs are prepared.
Warm Your Body and Soul With Their Christmas Menu
Although every season is ideal for visiting Tač restaurant, we would like to single out this Christmas season in particular. At this time, everything becomes more magical, and so is the restaurant Tač, which is known as one of the most beautiful restaurants to visit during the holidays. The kitchen's warm atmosphere, breathtaking decorations, and aromas are reminiscent of a festive Christmas lunch that no one can resist. December is reserved for banquets and enjoying gastronomic offers; hedonism is not forbidden this month, nor is it a rich and luxurious menu. At the Tač restaurant, you can eat cod on Christmas Eve. Codfish is a traditional Croatian meal most often served on fasting days. Croats love it in many ways, and the cod and potato soup dish is a favorite traditionally eaten on Christmas Eve.
Dry cod gets soaked in water for a couple of days and stewed in olive oil, garlic, and parsley. Then water, herbs, and potatoes are added. This meal simply warms the body and soul; we believe that this is the reason why on Christmas Eve, you will want to be at Restoran Tač. On other days, as well as on Christmas, the restaurant will serve Ajngemahtec. Wondering what it is? Namely, this is a favorite traditional dish of everyone in Zagreb and its surroundings. In Zagreb families during the 20th century, no single Sunday lunch started without this soup. Chicken soup with liver knuckles and vegetables is said to have come from Austria. Since Croatia was under Austro-Hungarian rule, Croatians still eat it a lot today. The name of the dish ajnegrmahtec comes from the compound "eingemacht", which in translation would mean all together. A warm broth that warms the soul and heals the body. After the soup, the menu includes the traditional Christmas dish Turkey with mlinci. This favorite continental dish is a filling classic on every table. The turkey is prepared with spices, basting it all the time with stock and oil to keep it juicy. Mlinci are almost always served with turkey. Mlinci are a type of pasta that is used as a side dish, most often with poultry. They are made from wheat flour, salt, and water. They are rolled thinly and dried. Before serving, they are torn, boiled, and poured with the roasting liquid. This is genuinely a menu that absolutely no one could resist.
Book your arrival at the link if you want to spend your Christmas party with delicious traditional Croatian cuisine in a warm environment. Good luck, and have a pleasant stay!
