Deck the halls! The Christmas season in Zagreb is in full swing. Dotted with twinkling lights and Christmas trees, the whole town is taken over by all things Christmassy. The Christmas markets are back in action, where hundreds of stalls sell ornaments, wooden toys, delicious food fit for gourmets, and mulled wine to keep the hearts warm on cold December nights. We don't know about you, but we love to take a walk around the city every year and simply admire the brightly decorated window displays set up in stores across the city. This little flower shop is located at Dežmanov prolaz and will stop your Christmas heart! Its spectacular decorations will undoubtedly awaken the inner child in you and make your eyes glow like a shiny little star. But what we love about Saša's window displays is that they are more than flashy Christmas decorations. This artist tries to stimulate the public's curiosity and tell a marvelous Christmas story every year. Saša Šekoranja is not lacking in originality and imagination, so over the years, in his window display, we have seen classical winter and Christmas themes, up to unusual and extravagant ones. Maya Angelou once said, "You can't use up creativity. But, the more you use, the more you have,'' and we couldn't agree more. Saša outdoes himself each year. And when we think it couldn't be better than this, he proves us wrong. This is the secret of his success!
This Year Saša Tells Us an Unusual Christmas Story, the Center of Which Are Sea Motifs
We were amazed! Šekoranja turned its flower store window display into a huge aquarium with golden fish that grant wishes. Something totally different, but yet so beautiful. Saša thought out every detail and really made an aquarium Christmas fairytale. But, it is best if we let Saša describe to you by itself;
''This time, everything is somehow related to the sea, the undersea... Because everything can become a fairy tale and magic with a little imagination and a lot of gold and glitter. And if I tickled a child's imagination, then I succeeded! A large Christmas aquarium! In the center, I placed a Christmas tree like a coral with thousands of lights and hundreds of fish swimming around. Then, I painted large panels with motifs of fish, corals, octopuses, and lobsters... and gilded them all with gold leaves. So everything shimmers as if at the bottom of the ocean.''

''Decorating the shop's window display is really a huge job, and now I'm looking forward to having it behind me. Then, finally, I will knit and create wreaths and arrangements in my workshop and decorate branches with pine trees. I especially enjoy the small scenes that I put in the glass bells. In this process, I can already see ideas for the next Christmas.'' – said Saša. All we can say about that is that we can't wait!
