Hosting New Year's Eve? Well, if there's one night you should go all out on the glamour, this is the one. From color schemes to the bubbles, here are a few of our personal recommendations to help you set up a party to remember!
Set the Right Scene for the Countdown to Midnight
Themed parties are not only reserved for kids' birthdays; adults are also allowed some fun. That doesn't mean you have to go as far as throwing a masquerade ball (although, hats off to you if you do!), but a specific color scheme or dress code suggestion may be just enough to make the occasion feel extra special. Here are just a couple of the many ways you can go about it.
If you're hosting a family-style dinner and like to keep the atmosphere cozy above everything else, don't put away your Christmas ornaments just yet! Vintage Christmas will never go out of fashion, making every guest feel at home. Fill the dinner table with details in classic holiday colors, such as deep reds or pine-tree greens, and they'll make the food look much more delicious. Bring out the nutcrackers for good luck, hang up some stockings with little New Year's Eve gifts, and get some fire crackling - and you've got the perfect mood set up for a pleasant and relaxed night with friends.

However, if your idea of New Year's Eve is a party with a capital P, go to town on the metallics - both gold and silver! Forget the tacky tinsels; mixed metallics have found their way into some of the most luxurious interiors. When combined with holiday greens, be it garlands, wreaths, or simply some fresh sprigs, gold and silver have a tale to tell - and it's a feeling of abundance and excitement that's only right for this once-a-year affair.
Give the Bubbles a Worthy Spotlight
A New Year's Eve staple deserves more than just a few seconds of the spotlight at midnight. So before sabering your bottle of bubbles, why not give it more attention during the evening? Displays such as a champagne wall or glass pyramid are definitely statement pieces worthy of New Year's Eve that will add an extra touch of old-school glamour to your party.
Let's not forget: the contents of the glass are just as important as the looks. It might surprise you, but there are a few sparkling wine varieties made in Croatia that make the perfect celebratory sip. It is well-known that most of the best Croatian sparkling wine comes from a winemaking area in continental Croatia called Plešivica, where you'll find many robust and vibrant sparkling wine sorts. However, if you're looking for an authentic treat for the most memorable night of the year, we'd recommend trying the Tomac winery's Blanc de Noirs or the award-winning Amfora.
For those who want a pop of color to their drink, a few Croatian wineries also offer exquisite sparkling rosé labels. For example, Tomaz winery from Motovun has extra dry sparkling rosé whose light, fruity, and citrus notes perfectly complement the new year's first moments!
We hope this gives you the little bit of inspiration you need for hosting a glamorous New Year's Eve, but don't forget: the key to a good party is to have a good time and enter the new year in good company. Happy New Year!
